Name: Wes Henson Captain Dee-Fense is a retired Navy Veteran. He had many assignments around the world. They included such exotic places as Guam, Keflavik Iceland, London England, Kami-Seya Japan and a short tour in Panama. Captain Dee is currently employed with the Department of Defense as an Information Technology Specialist in Northern Virginia. Captain Dee-Fense was born out of a question a little girl asked him at a game. “Are you the “Captain of the Defense”? Since he always had a heart felt belief that defense wins championships, Captain Dee was born. Captain Dee has appeared in many local and national publications. He has been written or appeared in the Baltimore Magazine, Baltimore Sun, Sporting News NFL Draft Edition, and Southern Maryland Independent newspapers, Washington Post, Afro American, Carroll County Time, Press Box and USA Today. Captain Dee was also written up in the local newspaper for his support of “National Library Week” Captain Dee was a guest of Visa at the 2003 NFL Kick- Off Classic in Time Square New York. While in NY, he appeared on the NBC Today’s show, Fox and Friends and interviewed with the Bloomberg Financial Network. Selected as the Ravens 2002 Fan of the Year and was later inductee in the Pro Football Hall Of Fame “Hall of Fan. He supports and participated in numerous charity events throughout Maryland. Captain Dee also volunteered with the Southern Maryland Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program and the Charles County Literacy Society. “The best part of being Captain Dee is interacting with the best fans in the NFL”. He believes that image is very important. He also feels that when he dons the Ravens colors, he is representing the fans and the city of Baltimore. He wears his Captain Dee uniform with the same enthusiasm he wore his military uniform. He is also a strong supporter of our men and women in uniform. He is also was the originator of the “Dee Dirty Towel” and the “Education is the Key of Life: keychain. Captain Dee is also a cancer survivor. |
